Fury Announced As Support To Michael Schenker
The outstanding young British metal band Fury UK announce an 8 date UK tour as main support to the legendary former UFO / Scorpions guitarist Michael Schenker.
This tops off an amazing year for the power trio from Manchester; a year which has seen them undertake a 20 date UK tour as main support to former-Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley, release their second album entitled “VR” (on independent label Rocksector Records) which has received excellent press, followed by an 18 date headline tour including stunning performances at SOS Festival, the Bulldog Bash & more recently Hellfire Festival at Birmingham NEC.
Lead vocalist/guitarist Chris Appleton says “2009 has been kind to Fury UK. As well as releasing what we’re sure is our best recording so far, we’ve been able to play on the same bill as bands that we’ve looked up to…. Blaze Bayley, UFO, Motorhead, Saxon, Anvil, Praying Mantis. It’s been a fantastic experience to also meet & hang out with some of these people & now the Michael Schenker tour is the ultimate climax to our year. He’s such a legendary guitarist & an inspiration to me & many others”.
Fury UK first travel on 26th November to play 6 dates in Greece & Switzerland with Blaze Bayley before embarking on the Michael Schenker tour as follows :-
December
16th Manchester O2 Academy
17th Sheffield O2 Academy
18th Dudley JB’s
19th Belfast Ulster Hall
20th Bristol O2 Academy
21st Milton Keynes Woughton Centre
22nd Newcastle O2 Academy
23rd Oxford O2 Academy
“VR” album reviews….
Kerrang magazine “..a commendable charge, standing up very well against the likes of White Wizzard & Cauldron.. pumping, ever-propulsive guitar riffs.. full-blooded vocals.. dynamic hooks.. aren’t going to be understood by Elliott Minor fans.. grimaced chants & guitar theatrics will win over the metal community in a trice”
Powerplay magazine “..storming album full of inventive, melodic metal.. at times intricate, dense, delicate & crushing.. reminds me of Priest & Maiden.. excellent piece of work.. powerful, heavy, accessible, modern metal.” 8/10
